Today, on March 20, at the Government Administration of Batumi, Zaza Vashakmadze, chairman of State Agency for Religions Issues officially presented Abesalom Aslanidze as the regional representative of the agency to Adjara.
The presentation was attended by the local authorities, ministers of the Adjara Autonomous Republic, Batumi Mayor Lasha Komakhidze, as well as the clergy of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Muslim community, Catholic and Armenian churches.
The regional office of the State Agency for Religions Issues has been opened today in Batumi after Kvemo Kartli, which will facilitate greater coordination and involvement of the religious organizations and local authorities in the region to resolve existing issues. Representation of the agency is officially functioning in the regions of Kvemo Kartli and Adjara. In the nearest future Samtskhe-Javakheti office will be opened.
