In the framework of the visit of the delegation of the State Agency for Religious Issues to the Republic of Poland, the chairperson of the agency Zaza Vashakmadze met with the Secretary General of the Polish Bishops' Conference - Bishop Arthur Mijinsky and his Deputy Jaroslav Mrovchinski.
The meeting was attended by: Senior Specialist of the Agency’s Legal Maintenance Office - Davit Davitashvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Poland - Ilia Darchiashvili and his adviser - Natalia Topchishvili.
The Chairman of the State Agency for Religions Issues provided the hosts with information concerning the religious policies of the Georgian State and the projects implemented recently in this regard. Particularly, the discussion touched on the financial assistance provided by the Georgian state to the Catholic Church, the Pope's visits to Georgia, the newly opened Catholic church in Rustavi, Georgia. It was also emphasized in the format of Inter-Religious Council a dialogue between the Georgian Orthodox and Catholic churches to overcome modern challenges.
The Polish side was interested in Catholic education in Georgia, relationships between different religions and other current issues.
